Boise Attorneys Fight Your Sex Crimes Charges
Zealous representation in challenging Idaho violent crime cases
Sex crimes are some of the most difficult cases in the criminal justice system. Because of their emotional response to the victims, jurors often consider defendants guilty until proven innocent. But then prosecutors are held to the same burden of proving your guilt beyond a reasonable doubt as they are in other types of cases.
Established in 2001, criminal defense law firm Gulstrom, Roark & Govia PC zealously represents you against sex crime charges. We hold the state or federal attorneys to their burden of proof and conduct aggressive investigations to uncover crucial exculpatory evidence to build your defense. Our Boise and Nampa assault defense attorneys advocate for your fair trial if you have been charged with any of the following crimes:

Internet and electronics-related sex crimes
Email, text messaging and social media forums can disseminate information quickly to a wide global audience. One click of the send button and you can release an image or comment to countless people, not just to the individual for whom your message was intended. The sense of privacy you experience while using the Internet or cell phone is not real. Your rights in this relatively new arena are developing slowly as laws are passed and court decisions are made one step behind advances in technology. Our law firm remains up-to-date on your rights and on computer forensics and evidence-gathering techniques in cases involving possession of child pornography and child enticement over the Internet.
Idaho sex offender registry
Under the Idaho Title 13 Sexual Offender Registration Notification and Community Right-to-Know Act, juveniles and adults convicted of certain crimes must register with the Idaho Sex Offender Registry (SOR), which provides easy online access to offenders’ names, addresses and convictions. Whenever offenders move or change jobs, they must notify the registry. Offenders’ personal information is also posted on the National Sex Offender Public Website administered by the U.S. Department of Justice. In addition, strict conditions are put on the offender’s place of residence and employment.
If convicted of a sex crime, inclusion on the Sex Offender Registry results in unfair punishment long after you have served your sentence. The SOR has lifetime implications on your relationships, your jobs and your opportunities to live and work freely in the community. For this reason, keeping you off this database is a primary concern of our criminal defense lawyers as we strategize our defense.
